New T.V. Series ‘Warrior’ Inspired By Bruce Lee’s Writings Looks Extremely Epic

New T.V. Series: A new Cinemax series called “Warrior,” inspired by the writing of Bruce Lee, has just released an exclusive trailer, a project that has taken almost 50 years to come to fruition.

The first season will feature 10-episodes and will be set in 1870s Chinatown, San Francisco with a largely Asian cast. It will be released sometime next year.

Bruce Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, serves as executive producer of the show as well as head of Bruce Lee Entertainment. She will also be working alongside executive producer Justin Lin, well known in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Both are working to keep the show in line with the late Lee’s vision.

Bruce Lee had created a project that was rejected by Warner Bros. He kept the rejected project in the family garage and the treatment was considered lost. The project was meant to serve as a precursor to a the 1970s Warner Bros. television series “Kung Fu.”

Shannon Lee told the Los Angeles Times that she was excited to see where the show was headed.

“Season 1 is just the beginning. We’ll hopefully get the opportunity to play the long game here and really get into some extremely interesting stuff, which we already have planned.”
