Tourists posing on Bangkok’s new observation deck

Daring tourists have headed high above Bangkok’s skyline to the city’s new observation deck, 314m up in the air.

The new Skywalk on the 78th floor of the King Power Mahanakhon building is already proving a hit with thrill-seekers, but not just because of its dizzying height.

There’s more adrenaline-inducing fun to be had for those seeking it, as the outer deck goes over the building’s edge with the floors featuring glass panels so you can see the city streets down below.

A few brave souls have been posing on the glass panel – and although the floor is safe and secure, we’re not sure we’d have the stomach for it!

Still, for those who want to check out the sights there is also an outdoor walkway with fencing and glass enclosures, meaning that visitors can enjoy unrivalled 360 degree views of the city.

In fact, the King Power Mahanakhon now offers the highest views in Thailand thanks to the new observation platform.

The Skywalk has only been open for a few weeks but it’s already proving popular with tourists and locals who want to not only take in the views but get that photographic evidence that they braved the glass floor panels.

Or of course there is ample opportunity to get a selfie with the epic skyline views behind you.

The King Power Mahanakhon itself is a relatively new addition to the Bangkok skyline.

It was only completed back in 2016, and boasts an eye-catching prism-inspired design. It is currently being used for a mixture of residential and retail spaces.

If you’re planning a trip, it’s worth adding it to the list of must-visit places in Thailand.

Sounds like something right up your street? Tickets start from 750baht which is approximately £17.99, and includes your admission to the deck and a free soft drink.
