Man accused of killing wife taken into custody

A man who allegedly killed his wife has been put under detention pending further investigation into his latest crime.

Mongkhon Suadej, 36, alias “Ake Oros”, showed no signs of stress as police brought him to the Nonthaburi Provincial Court for detention on Sunday.

One of his wives also showed up to offer him moral support.

Mongkhon was accused of killing another of his wives, 40-year-old Patchara Thongsawas, at a house in Nonthaburi province with an electric stun gun.

The murder allegedly took place on April 2, with Mongkhon emerging as the prime suspect as he was nowhere to be seen by his wife’s side.

Police tracked him down and arrested him on April 5.

Mongkhon denied that he had killed Patchara. However, he admitted that he had been convicted of shooting dead a schoolboy in 2015.

The Court of Appeals had sentenced Mongkhon to 12 years and five months in jail in absentia because he had jumped bail and did not show up in the court.
